My biggest trout EVER!!!
It was June, 2002 and the water had been running for months on the Norfork. Tom Rogers and myself had hooked up with several browns over 10 pounds in the previous week, but they were schooling us. I got lucky on this one, and the brown measured 26 inches in length and had a girth of 20 inches. The "formula" says this one weighed 13 pounds...I firmly believe that's fair. |

Best cutthroat picture
Last summer ('04) we finally got a little low water by Bull Shoals Dam. Conditions were "still", which can be tough, but this day a good drift would hook a big fish. I've caught bigger cutts, but I have no pics. Hopefully someone will get a better one soon. This fish was 20 inches and hit a scud.

HUGE BROOKIE...all things considered
Last spring one of my clients hooked a true once-in-a-lifetime trout. This 18-incher would equal my best brook ever...caught on the Norfork. What makes this one so special is that we got it on the White River, right by the dam. This could be the biggest brookie caught on the White River in years. |

One nice rainbow
One of my nicer 'bows ever, this 23-inch beauty took a scud in calm conditions last summer ('04). I'll never forget the way this fish would swim up or downstream right near the surface...it looked like a submarine in the placid water. This isn't my biggest rainbow, but I'll take a six pound trout any day.

One Heck of a Cutthroat!!!
This 22-inch cutthroat was taken below Bull Shoals Dam on 3/6/05 on a #16 scud. Conditions were calm, but the big fish were biting anyway. The picture doesn't do this fish justice...it was a beast. Caught on 6x tippet during still conditions, this fish is a true accomplishement considering where it was hooked. Most big cutthroats are caught in the spring, and many take dry flies greedily. |
