Two Rivers Fly Shop (link is down cuurently, but the shop is still there) - The Norfork area's ONLY fly shop. Great selection and a good place to stop in and chat. Give Jim Lipscomb or Chris Chimo a call at (870) 499-3060 for more information.
Mountain River Fly Shop The area's newest and perhaps biggest fly shop. What a selection. This place has it all. Also, I recommend this shop for having the best selection of flies for the White and Norfork...I would even use some of theirs, which is saying something. Located right on Hwy 62 in Cotter, this shop is central to all the best fishing. A friendly staff awaits. Call (870) 435-6166 for more info.
Blue Ribbon Fly Shop Dale Fulton has operated this fly shop for many years, and it is the area's most established fly fishing retailer. This full-service shop is worth checking out. Call Dale at (870) 425-6954 for more info.

Dining, entertainment, and other activities in the Mountain Home area
Big Creek Golf Course This new course received a prestigious 5-star ranking in Golf Digest magazine (May 2004), and believe me, it is a gem and a pleasure to play. Not usually crowded, Big Creek allows for a quick 9 or 18 between fishing, but you will need to call for a tee time if you want to make sure you get on. Located right in Mountain Home, Big Creek Golf Course is convenient and worth playing. Full practice facilities and pro shop on site. Call (870) 425-8815 for more information.
178 Club Perhaps the area's best restaurant, this cozy club offers great seafood and the best steaks around. Surely to please everyone. 178 Club is located in the town of Bull Shoals, and reservations are recommended, especially on Thursday through Saturday nights. Closed Mondays. There is a small bowling alley located next door, which adds to the charm. Call (870) 445-4949 for reservations and directions.
Contact me for other dining options Listed below are other good places to eat in the Mountain Home Area. Phone numbers are also provided.
El Charro: Good Mexican Food at a very reasonable price. Alcohol is not served here. (870) 425-7877
Whitewater Grill: This newer restaurant is a visitor's favorite, and they offer some great dishes. I like the ribs, the steaks can be very good, and the seafood is always without reproach. Call (870) 424-3800 for details and directions.
The Steak House: If you like peanut shell-on-the-floor eateries, this is the place for you. The steaks are tasty, and everything on the menu is pretty good. This is a fun, casual place to bring the kids. Call (870) 508-6632 for more info.
Don Quixote's: Although I haven't eaten here, I've heard great things. This restaurant is in Calico Rock, a White River town 13 miles south of Norfork on Highway 5. This is a good option if you are staying in the Norfork area and want a unique dining experience. They claim to offer gourmet food. Call (870)297-8899 for reservations and directions.
***Almost all restaurants in Mountain Home are on Business Highway 62 (the main drag), and you will see lots of options along this stretch. Most fast food franchises are represented in Mtn. Home, as well.
